A First Look at the 2025 PGA Tour Season: Majors, Signature Events, and Playoffs
The 2025 PGA Tour schedule promises a thrilling 39-event season, starting in early January in Hawaii and concluding in Atlanta with the Tour Championship in August. Featuring four major championships, eight Signature Events, and two FedEx Cup playoff tournaments, the season is packed with high-stakes competition and exciting venue changes.
Notable Changes and Highlights
One of the biggest shifts in 2025 involves the Truist Championship, typically held at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, NC. Since Quail Hollow will host the PGA Championship in May, the event moves to Philadelphia Cricket Club, a venue with a strong championship history, including hosting the 2015 PGA Professional Championship and the 2024 USGA Four-Ball Amateur Championship.
The BMW Championship will also return to Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland, last played there in 2021, after a year at Castle Pines in Colorado.
Additionally, the 2025 Ryder Cup will be held at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, NY, from September 25-28, adding further excitement to the golf calendar.
Signature Events and Majors
Signature Events in 2025 include fan favorites such as the Arnold Palmer Invitational, The PLAYERS Championship, and the Memorial Tournament. Majors return to iconic courses, including Augusta National for the Masters, Oakmont for the U.S. Open, and Royal Portrush for The Open Championship.
FedEx Cup Playoffs
The playoff series kicks off with the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind, followed by the BMW Championship at Caves Valley, and wraps up with the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, where the FedEx Cup Champion will be crowned.
