PGA Tour golfer Joel Dahmen faced a four-stroke penalty during the Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas after realizing he was carrying an extra club in his bag.
This violation, due to having 15 clubs instead of the permitted 14, came to light on the fourth hole and immediately impacted his score, shifting him from a par 72 to a 76.
Dahmen, ranked 124th in the FedEx Cup Fall standings, now faces an uphill battle to retain his PGA Tour status for 2025.
