Jon Rahm Blames Drone for Water Hazard at LIV Golf Nashville

Written on 06/24/2024

Jon Rahm started the final round at LIV Golf Nashville strong with three birdies in the first four holes. However, his momentum was disrupted on the par-4 6th hole when his tee shot found the water.

Rahm, known for his fade, unexpectedly hit his shot to the left, leading to the water hazard. He quickly turned around and blamed a nearby drone for the mishap. “Every tournament. It’s incredible,” Rahm ranted. “Right on my backswing. These drones every time.”

Despite his frustration, Rahm’s strong language during the event didn’t result in any fines, as swearing is not penalized in LIV Golf League tournaments. This policy contrasts with those of the DP World Tour and PGA Tour, where fines are imposed for such behavior. Consequently, LIV Golf’s hot mics frequently capture players’ expletives, sparking mixed reactions among fans.

Rahm ended up with a double-bogey six on the 6th hole and finished the round with a 68. He secured a T3 finish for the week, marking his eighth top-10 finish in nine events on the LIV Golf circuit in 2024. Meanwhile, his teammate Tyrrell Hatton clinched his first LIV Golf title in Nashville.
